Instructions
You must focus on the same topic (problem) as you did in your AB and TP.
You do not need to include a Title Page and a References Page for your P-S First Draft.
You must include the Introduction Section and the Solutions Section in your First Draft.
Introduction Section = Description of the background of the problem (this can come directly from your TP Final Draft) + Thesis Statement (the best solution and its major advantages) + A roadmap paragraph
Solutions Section = Description of Non-Ideal solutions with refutations (this can come directly from your TP Final Draft) + Argumentation on the Best Solution. The order of non-ideal solutions and the best solution is not fixed but you need to follow the order you mentioned in your roadmap.
Argumentation = (1) arguing for the best solution from multiple perspectives, illustrating its diverse advantages and benefits and using evidence from research to back up your argument; (2) acknowledging the potential weaknesses and refuting them; (3) comparing and contrasting it with the Non-ideal solution(s) and explaining why it is better than the other(s)
You must include citations for your argumentation and the sources from your AB draft two. You can search for new sources as well.
Best Solution = something concrete, specific, hands-on, and useable (e.g., An instructional sequence with lessons, activities, and assignments rather than “better education.” Pet therapy rather than “better medical support.” Replacing physical guns with smart guns rather than “better awareness raising on gun ownership and safety issues”)
Your best solution cannot be a combination of multiple approaches or a “comprehensive approach”.
The solutions need to be carried out by your specified problem solver and you can have one problem solver only.
Use headings and subheadings to the best possible extent
Total word count: At least 1000 words; put the exact word count at the end of your draft.
Refer to the Sample P-S: Music Therapy
Your grade may be lowered or even graded as zero if there the above instructions are not followed.
