Instructions:
This assignment is essentially an extension of the last assignment and will require you to adjust your project plan for risk and to reconcile resource usage with reality. In other words, you will come up with a project plan that is adjusted for risk and resource leveling. Only the mitigation risk response will be used. Obviously, to make this assignment meaningful, you will need a risk register. Note that this is essentially an assignment that is relevant mainly to the traditional/waterfall approach. Agile does have the notion of a risk-adjusted product backlog but that notion is covered in depth in PMAN 637 (Project Uncertainty and Risk).
To derive the risk-adjusted project plan, do the following:
a. Create your risk register in EXCEL: Include project risks as rows in the EXCEL file. For each risk identified, include columns for mitigation, dependencies OR start/finish dates, contingency duration, and contingency cost for each, and the Beta-Pert distribution parameters for cost and schedule. Use the Risk Register template that is attached.
b. The simulation is part of your risk-adjusted plan. The contingency duration of each risk will be your assumption cells (with the Beta-Pert distribution and parameters being used to set each assumption). The total contingency duration will be your forecast cell). Repeat this for cost.
The attached PDF gives details on the project. The other PDF is a source, but you can use any outside sources you want as well. The Risk Register template is also attached.
