Instructions
The culminating project for this course is to curate your own Virtual Art Exhibition. It will be organized around a central theme of your choosing and be comprised of only 10 images.
You will use Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides, or similar software to create your Virtual Art Exhibition.
Please the Exhibition Example as a guide for what your exhibition can look like. 
Be as creative and as innovative as you like in designing your exhibition, but you must include the following components:
1. Determine a theme for your exhibition
This needs to be a unique theme you arrived at and should NOT be based on an existing information or copied from an existing exhibition or book.
Things to consider when developing your theme:
What do you your audience to take away for the exhibition?
Will the focus be limited to particular media?
Will the focus be about convey a specific message?
Will the focus be about a particular time period?
Will the focus be about one particular artist?
2. Select 10 artworks
Ensure images are of good quality and do not have pixelation.
See Appropriate Research Sources for help will locating images and contextual information.
The best resource for images is Artstor and will require login to TAMUC library for full access
3. Introduction – brief statement that explains the theme of the exhibition
Must be 100% authored by you and should NOT be drawn from any existing exhibitions.
Criteria for the Introduction:
minimum 150 words
maximum 300 words, do not exceed the 300-word maximum. Studies show that museum text blocks no longer than 300 words are ideal for keeping a museum visitor’s attention.
4. Provide full artwork label for each artwork
Must include the following:
Artist Name
Title
Date
Media
Dimensions
Current Location
5. Label Copy – short description explaining artwork and connection to theme
Must be 100% authored by you and should NOT be drawn from any existing label copy or descriptions from your sources.
Criteria for the Label Copy:
minimum 50 words
maximum 200 words.  Studies show that 150 words is the ideal length for label text copy.
Things to consider for you label copy:
Point key visual elements related to the theme or worth mentioning.
Discuss the subject matter.
Provide some context about the artist, the subject, or anything else in the image relevant to your theme.
You don’t have to touch on all items in every label, but make sure to lead your viewer as to reasons why you included the image in the exhibition.
6. Cite your sources
For each artwork include a full citation according to the Chicago Manual of Style for you image source and contextual source. If the same source, please indicate that.

7. Organize your exhibition using Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides, or similar program.
8. Submit your exhibition as a PDF file.
