Specialized Project: PESTEL Analysis
LO-5.4 Conduct a PESTEL analysis on a specific MENA state
This project will demonstrate your ability to synthesize discipline-specific material and help you develop expertise on specific MENA setting. The project involves conducting independent research. 12-15 pages (Times, double spaced). Use of peer-reviewed publications is required, in addition to other reputable reports. The assignment will also involve creating a graphic that illustrates your findings.
Here are the components of this project (exactly as you can list them in your document):
1. Hypothetical Organization
Pick a specific country in the MENA, or even a specific city. Imagine you are running an organization in this setting, whether a company or a non-profit such as a nongovernmental organization (NGO). In part 1, identify your hypothetical organization, along with a brief blurb about what it does. (Example: “The organization is an NGO that distributes medical supplies and medications to civilians in Jordanian refugee camps”).
2. PESTEL Analysis
Here is the bulk of your composition. Using research and the online library, explore the security environment of your organization with a PESTEL analysis.
PESTEL stands for: Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal. These are the different environmental factors you will investigate to determine whether your organization is secure and likely to thrive in its chosen location or not. You can create a sub-section for each of the factors. For each one, provide specific information or data from reputable studies and reports using in-text citations.
Then, include a conclusion that summarizes the key takeaways. What are the main strengths of the organization’s setting? What are the main weaknesses?
You can read more about a PESTEL analysis here: PESTEL analysis. Industry examples: here.

Whichever source you use to create the graphic, you must credit this source in a caption.
4. Support for the Analysis
The study should be supported throughout by sources, including peer-reviewed articles. Avoid relying only on course readings, although you can cite from any relevant ones. The study should offer a new bibliography of sources, including the peer-reviewed studies.
