The Prompt:
After completing the proposal and annotated bibliography for this assignment, put those elements together into a 1300-1500-word paper.
Hot tip: Really use your proposal and annotated bibliography for this assignment. You can reuse the same wording, but build in transitions and additional points of connection between the other sources that you found and the novel.
Requirements:
Introduction:
This can be the same as the proposal (revised if you like or were asked to do so), minus the quotations that you included. The last sentence should be a clearly-articulated thesis about why the book you chose is important to the character’s sentimental education.
Body:
Integrate the quotations from the second half of your proposal here.
Use the annotation paragraphs from your annotated bibliography here as well.
Make sure you explain clear connections between the novel we are studying in this course with the three other sources you found.
Be clear here about what a sentimental education is for the character in the novel; you can compare and contrast with what it is for other characters in the novel, and also in the additional sources that you found.
Conclusion:
What do you think might happen later on in the novel? Make connections between the source that you studied, the narrator of Volume II’s sentimental education, and what you think might happen later.
Works Cited page:
The last page of any assignment that uses sources (which is most of what you are asked to write in college).
You will need one entry per item that you cite. Anything you include should be cited using this formula:
Author last name, first name. Title of Work. Name of publisher, year published.
