As an early childhood administrator, you will have your own approaches and philosophies to and about the diverse types of programs. Subsequently, there are many types of early childhood programs. Each program has its own program goals, methods, and philosophies. The many types of early childhood programs that are presently in business reflect a blend of many influences that impact the types of program used, and as an administrator, you must be aware of this.
As a Director of an early childhood center, you will want to provide effective resources for your teachers. Consistently, early childhood programs offer many kinds of educational foundations that get children ready for their scholastic futures. This movement leaves Directors in the position to make decisions about early childhood program types.
With the mounting recognition of the importance of early experiences in building a firm foundation for learning and development, and with the pressures on early childhood programs to produce results quickly, new approaches, resources, and types are being pushed on programs to make it necessary to know even more information about the types of programs.
You will develop an essay in this week’s assignment. Please review all resources for this week. In this essay, you will identify two early childhood program models.
Consider the differences between the program models you selected and determine what causes the differences between the models.
Write a guide for new early childhood teachers within your center to share as a professional development resource. Be sure to include the following:
Name the early childhood program models (select two from the list below):
Montessori
High Scope
Reggio Emilia
Waldorf Education
Describe the model.
State differences between the two models regarding leadership roles, staff training/professional development, and environment.
Explain the reasons for the differences.
Discuss the effects of the differences.
Consider how the models address diverse populations.
Your essay should appeal to a diverse population of administrators. Utilize appropriate style, theme, and use of color; add images and create and add a bulleted list/numbered list as needed.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including the title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of five (5) scholarly references that are seminal references or published within the last five (5) years.
