Instructions from teacher:
1. Read through news, articles, podcasts and other sources to find an example of a current ethical dilemma in your field. This should be a specific instance, and not a general topic. For example, you could focus on He Jiankui Defends ′World′s First Gene-Edited Babies. but not just the idea of genetically engineering babies. It is expected that you review multiple articles from different sources in your assessment to ensure that you are gaining multiple perspectives on the situation. A minimum of 3 sources are to be cited.
2. Conduct a comprehensive case analysis. This is an opportunity to pull together all the knowledge that you have gained throughout the course. Your case analysis should include:
Case desсrіption & background:
a thorough and concise discussion on the key facts
describe any missing information
identify stakeholders (active and passive) and any conflicting interests
Ethical analysis:
identify ALL ethical dilemmas and the values being challenged
violations to ethical codes of conduct/professional codes
identify key decision makers
share the outcomes from the decisions made including any legal action, organizational changes, industry changes (changes to business conduct/operations, personnel changes, etc.), etc.
Alternates:
compile a comprehensive list of alternate actions by the various parties
identify your recommendations for the best course of action and explain your thought process
highlight ethical theories reflected in your decision making
3. Create a presentation to share your case analysis including a slide deck with a minimum of 10 slides (not including references) and video 10 – 15 minute presentation recording. (I will be doing this part)
