Instructions for the research paper

Please write a three to four-page research paper (double-spaced) on a topic covered in the text. It can be about a famous person, event, battle, piece of art, piece of music, or a wonder of architecture in world history up to 1500 CE. 1) Come up with a research question, and then 2) after doing research with appropriate sources that directly address your research question, 3) come up with your own point of view (“POV”) on this topic. Use evidence to support your POV throughout your paper. Separate out your main points into separate paragraphs. Conclude with why you think this topic is still important for your readers to consider today. Attach your reference page.
You must use at least 3 sources outside of the course reading materials, conducting research on your own. Be sure to cite the sources you use and use quotation marks for any direct quotations. Even if you paraphrase from what you have read, you still need to provide a page number citation for this reference.
Answer these questions in the paper:
1) What is your research question and what sources did you use to research it?
2) After doing your research using appropriate sources, what is your point of view (POV) on this topic? (put this thesis or POV in your intro paragraph)
2) Prove your point of view by providing evidence. Use separate paragraphs to delineate your main points.
3) If there is a modern expression of your topic, explain that. (If you choose the Roman colosseum as an example, a modern expression would be a football or baseball stadium.)
4) Conclude your paper with why your topic is important for people to know about today.
5) Attach a reference sheet at the end of your paper to list the sources you have cited.
