It is likely that both Harvey and Berger & Luckmann would argue that a central barrier in efforts to understand the natural world involves the fact that how we value it is a social construction. Using their work directly, carefully explain why these authors would come to this conclusion. By referencing at least two additional authors read this semester, explain how media (defined narrowly and/or broadly) can be used in response to this problem.
While for Serpell the affinity that human beings once had with the animal kingdom was severed as we transitioned from hunter-gathers to farmers, for Fromm humanity’s alienation emerged alongside the ascent of capitalist relations. Carefully explain their arguments and where they might (specifically and/or generally) overlap. In light of their views and through references to at least two additional sources read this semester, explain if you think their arguments yield any insights that can help us avoid an environmental catastrophe.

As a result of what you learned in MIT 3436G, you have been appointed ‘Czar of the Earth’s Survival’ — a position that gives you absolute power to solve the environmental crisis facing the planet. Write a paper that explains the two most important changes that humanity must immediately put into effect.
