Initial Post Instructions
Present two different types of data, or variables, used in the health field. Examples could be   blood pressure, temperature, pH, pain rating scales, pulse oximetry, % hematocrit, minute respiration, gender, age, ethnicity, etc.
Classify each of your variables as qualitative or quantitative and explain why they fall into the category that you chose.
Also, classify each of the variables as to their level of measurement–nominal, ordinal, interval or ratio–and justify your    classifications.
Which type of sampling could you use to gather your data? (stratified,             cluster, systematic, and convenience sampling)

Hello class!
Two types of variables that are used in the healthcare field are..
1: Blood Pressure
2: Gender
Classifying Each Variable:
1: Blood pressure is a quantitative variable in this situation because it falls under numerical data. A patient’s blood pressure can be taken by using numerical values such as millimeters of mercury in the blood.
2: Gender is a qualitative variable in this situation due to how it represents categories instead of numerical values the way that the blood pressure does. Gender can be classified as either male or female.
Level of Measurement:
1: Blood pressure is at the ratio level because it has a meaningful zero point.
2: Gender is at the nominal level because it represents categories without an inherent order or numerical significance, such as a human.
Sampling Method:
Stratified sampling can be used to gather the correct facts on this data. This requires dividing the population  and randomly selecting participants from each stratum to provide their representation from various subgroups.
