Informatics professionals are needed across healthcare settings. For this activity, select an informatics role that a person may pursue in their profession (e.g., nursing informatics, CNIO, CMIO, imaging informatics, etc.) and submit a 2-page paper, following APA style and include your name at the top of the first page.
Include the following:
Begin with a definition of informatics (related to the chosen role)
List some of the primary responsibilities of the chosen role
Clarify the qualifications of the specialty
Explain 1-2 key activities they would be involved in at a health care organization
Key challenges this role faces in advancing health IT adoption
Answer the question, why is clinical informatics (the role you’ve chosen) vital to healthcare in the 21stcentury?
This paper requires you to read the literature or use your textbooks to find out about the informatics role. Do not rely on website information, such as schools or universities that prepare students for the role. Refer to the Informatics Role Exploration Rubric for evaluation guidelines.
