In this semester project, you will apply your knowledge of legal concepts and the IRAC method to analyze a complex fact pattern. To enhance the quality of your analysis and gain insights beyond traditional legal research, you will incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) tools. You will be required to submit 1 legal memorandum which follows the IRAC method. In this method, you are expected to identify the ISSUE presented to you, identify the RULE(s)that are applicable, APPLY the rule(s) to the case, and provide your CONCLUSION.

Access and sign up for the free versions of artificial intelligence tools identified for your legal research and analysis.
Explore the AI platforms that can assist in legal research, including natural language processing and legal analytics tools.
Drafting the Legal Memorandum:
Begin the process of drafting a legal memorandum that follows the IRAC method.
Identify the key ISSUE(s) presented in the case based on your understanding of the fact pattern.
You can utilize AI to complete this function, but you will be required to verify all information provided by the AI.
Applying the Law:
Utilize AI-powered legal research tools to locate and analyze relevant legal RULE(s) applicable to the identified issues.
You must have AI support the rule with a case citation from a court in the United States.
Apply the rules to the facts of the case.
Conclusion and Analysis:
Use AI-generated insights to provide a comprehensive analysis of the case.
Craft a CONCLUSION that summarizes your findings and legal positions.
Verification of sources provided by AI. Please utilize the WestLaw application found on the Berkeley College Library applications site. You must include the actual case document from WestLaw that verifies the legal citation from AI. This will be done in the student work process and verification section of your paper. If there is no support, please indicate this. However, you will still be required to find a case to support the rule and indicate it as such.
Student Work Process and Verification:
Draft a detailed description of your process in creating this semester project. Your work must include the following at a minimum: 1. Your own non-AI driven research into the fact pattern, to include sources. 2. The process you used when applying AI to the project. 3. A detailed description of your verification process of the AI provided material, including your sources used in the verification process.

Your legal memorandum should be well-structured and professionally written, adhering to the IRAC method.
Make use of artificial intelligence tools to enhance the depth and accuracy of your legal research.
Ensure proper citations for any external sources used.
You will provide a detailed and honest description of your process and results including verifying all AI-produced work products.
The intent of this project is to not only reinforce your understanding of legal analysis but also introduce you to the benefits of AI in legal research. It is essential to allocate sufficient time for research, drafting, and review to excel in this project, which represents a significant portion of your final grade.
