In this last component of the overall course, you will be creating an “Teamwork Toolbox,” taking what you have learned and explaining how you will use it, from a practical standpoint, in your career (Human Resources Manager). You will use your work in the previous modules of the course for this final project. This assignment is a major part of your grade; therefore, appropriate effort should be put into the development and delivery of your presentation.
Think about the purpose of a toolbox. It houses important tools necessary for successful completion of a project. Let’s say you are going to build an outdoor pergola at your house. You might find a hammer, nails/screws, a level, a power screw gun and a power drill. Each of these tools serves a different purpose but are all required to successfully build your beautiful pergola. The key is that you have tools you are comfortable using as you know their intended purpose and they are the right tools for the job. Further, by having these tools in your toolbox means that you have the tools at your fingertips, ready to use when needed.
The purpose of this assignment is to get you to consider what “tools” should be part of your teamwork toolbox. These will not be things like hammers and nails, but rather things you have learned this semester that you should use to improve team performance at your organization. We have spent a great deal of time learning about various components of effective teamwork and ways you can become a better team leader and team member.
You will identify 5 tools that you plan to keep readily available in your toolbox. You can select tools from any of the chapters we covered, but you must use 5 different chapters (attached). This will require you to “think outside of the box” considering how the information you learned here can help you in your future team efforts. There is no right or wrong answer – your tools are your own and will likely be different from others. They are specific to you and your work environment. You will create a PowerPoint presentation that outlines your tools. Some details to consider are included below:
4-6 mins max! (deductions will be taken for going over!!)
Be engaging! You will be graded on your presentation skills.
Be thorough! You must include material from the course to support your tool selection.
Be creative! This is your chance to show off your style, so have fun with it!
In this last component of the overall course, you will be creating an “Teamwork
