Text messages can be useful to those who regularly use their cell phones to communicate at work or those who take regular breaks. This would be better suited to those workers that are on the ground. These messages can contain emergency information concerning weather, operations, or the status of specific areas or equipment. This can be useful as many folks do not carry radios for alerts, but nearly everyone has a phone on them most of the time. The same can be applied to e-mail notifications.
Meetings
Meeting can be a great way for executive leadership to promote safety by setting an example and explaining in person why it’s important.  “One of the most effective ways the accountable executive can be visibly involved is by leading regular executive safety meetings” (ICAO, 2018). They can share experiences from their tenured career and can answer any questions employees may have.
Social media
Social media can be used when the audience is typically younger. This younger audience is more likely to run into a valid talking point related to safety on social media than they are going to pay attention to a poster in a hallway. It’s important that means of communication are catered to those that will be receiving the information. “When assessing which type of media should be used to convey a particular message, the organization should assess which one is more appropriate to each message and its targeted audience” (ICAO, 2018).

Safety management has existed for decades. However, the method and avenue have been constantly changing. Society relies on technology in daily life, which has altered how safety regulations are distributed in the workplace. Having a cell phone on the flight line is helpful for the quick release of information amongst the entire shift because we have a great chat with our expeditor to keep us informed of any last-minute changes or weather advisories since everyone can’t carry a radio and be attentive to that and launching their aircraft. For example, we are constantly in weather advisories and warnings for lightning within five nautical miles because it is monsoon season in Arizona. The expeditor can send a message to the shift that we are in lightning and to secure our tools and go inside because our regulations do not allow us to work in lightning. The anonymous QR code is the most recent addition to our SMS in our shop. We can submit issues within the squadron to someone wishing to remain anonymous. According to the FAA, the essential idea of any SMS — be it a product/service provider’s SMS or the. SMS comprises four functional components, including an intangible but always critical aspect called safety culture. These avenues of communication allow for a quick response and safe reporting for individuals afraid of reprise in reporting safety hazards in the workplace.
