In this assignment, you will have the opportunity to pose a research question on a topic of your choice that is related to leadership and management, and to conduct thorough research on that topic. Integrate your knowledge of any of the course competencies and how they apply to your chosen topic. Your essay should demonstrate your ability to integrate theory with practice, showing connections between different theories and how the theories apply to the workplace (and, wherever possible, your specific workplace).
Your research question should be as specific and relevant as possible; avoiding vagueness will not only make a more interesting paper but will help you focus the research portion and ensure it is a question that is clear enough to answer! Your research should also encompass a broad range of reliable sources including both readings/videos from class as well as materials you find on your own. Remember to accurately cite all sources.
Please note that many of these ideas can feel abstract, and some may entail sharing your own thoughts, opinions, experiences or feelings. Please note that (for this assignment and others) you are only required to share what you are comfortable with and that is relevant to the project. You should always back up your ideas with real-world examples you are comfortable sharing as well as data and research.
The essay should be 8–10 pages double-spaced pages with a minimum of five sources cited in APA style. Citations do not count toward the page count.
Research Quesiton: What leadership competencies are critical for strategic thinking and planning in the manufacturing industry?.
I will attach a detailed outline for the essay. Please follow the attached outline, it lists which competencies to use in the paper. Also, please make connections to other competencies we discussed in class such as being present, authenticity, empathy, courage, and character if applicable.
