In this assignment, you will 1) select a women’s health topic covered in this course and of interest to you to research, and 2) develop an academic PowerPoint Presentation. Research your topic with at least five academic resources (published within the past five years) organizing the main points to create an informative and engaging PowerPoint Presentation.
When developing your presentation, consider how to use written communication that will increase knowledge, foster understanding, or promote change in the listeners’ attitudes, values, beliefs, or behaviors.
Select your topic. Select a women’s health disease or condition covered in this course that interests you and you want to learn more about.
Research your topic. Conduct academic research on your topic using the UTA Library. Identify 5 sources of information that address the following prompts – each prompt should be one slide of your presentation.
Overview of the Topic: What is the health issue? Name and define the issue. Why is this issue important/relevant to women’s health?
Disease Burden: Who does the issue impact? Use epidemiological data to describe who the disease impacts.
Population Impact: Why do more people develop the disease than others? What role do the Social Determinants of Health play in the issue?
Prevention: Describe how the issue is treated at each level of prevention, primary, secondary, and tertiary.
Recommendation: What solutions or recommendations have been made to improve the issue on a broad scale.
References: At least 5 academic sources from the past 5 years. Sources should be peer-reviewed journal articles, textbooks, or reputable websites (CDC, WHO, NIH, etc.). Do not cite Wikipedia, news articles, blogs, etc.
Create your presentation. Address the prompts. Each prompt should be one slide. In-text citations should be used on each slide.
