In the Case Assignment in module 4, you were asked to imagine that you were a health and safety specialist employed by a large company (the type of industry
can be any industry of your choosing, ideally consistent with future career aspirations). The organization you are working for has never had a health and safety
specialist in their employ. Recall that their decision to hire one is based on a recommendation from their insurance provider following several issues associated
with workplace safety and health concerns.
In this final assignment, you will continue with the scenario established in the case assignment and prepare an 8 to 10 page paper in which you:
1. Discuss how you would investigate a complaint of “sick building” from an employee who is reporting symptoms of illness that occur only while he is in
the physical plant or facility. Discuss how you would go about conducting the investigation of this complaint.
2. Describe how you would address concerns coming from several employees about having to potentially provide first-aid to injured co-workers or
employees that could lead to an bloodborne exposure incident.
3. Describe how you would address an outbreak of food poisoning in the company cafeteria. Be certain to describe other professionals with whom you
would collaborate. Also address any outside agencies that would need to be involved in this incident.
4. Discuss record keeping requirements for incidents involving health/safety issues.
