In chapter 8 of the textbook, we learned about conformity (a change in one’s behavior due to the real or imagined influence of other people) and how we can change people’s behavior by using different conformity tactics (e.g., foot-in-the-door technique, door-in-the-face technique).
For your final paper, you are to write an APA-formatted 3-page paper in which you identify a problem at John Jay (or any other college or school you have attended or a workplace) that needs to be addressed (e.g., recycling efforts, engagement in sporting events, getting people to take the stairs). You will then use each of the four strategies of conformity learned in Chapter 8 to describe how they can be used to fix the problem that you identified.
