Aiming to limit governmental power at the national level, it established a government that was not only decentralized, but weak and inefficient as well. With mounting economic troubles underscored by Shay’s Rebellion, it was time for a new constitution, one that would create a government that could meet the challenges facing the young nation.

As you read each document, you should consider the following questions and identify the relevant information that answers each one. These questions should be used to analyze and discuss the documents. All arguments must be supported by evidence from each of the documents.

Write a well-organized essay, a minimum of 700 words (but not limited to), including supporting details from the documents/textbook/other sources, in which you analyze and discuss the material that has been assigned by addressing the following question:
Compare and contrast the Articles of Confederation and the United States Constitution. Which weaknesses of the Articles of the Confederation did the U.S. Constitution address and how?
