I’m working on a writing project and need a sample draft to help me study. For this assignment, you will choose one of the following options to complete:A Blueprint/map of the ideal classroom for promoting positive behavioral outcomesYou must be mindful of room arrangement. Did you put messy activities near a sink? Is your quiet space for privacy away from high traffic areas? Where are the shelves? Tables, furniture for comfort? Write a brief description explaining why you would set the classroom up in this way.
A list of indirect guidance strategies you will useHow will you use the environment as the third teacher? How will children know what to do/when to do it? How will children know the number of children in each space? How will they know where toys belong? Include samples of picture schedules, labels, etc. and describe how you will use them.
Make a list of developmentally appropriate books, including Title and Author names (15-20 books) that you would include in your classroom library to use with children to talk about some of the topics mentioned in class (emotions, friendships, other prosocial behaviors–sharing, taking turns, etc). Pick one children’s book, read and summarize it, and write a lesson plan related to the story. Explain why you think this would be a good book for young children (ages 0-5) to be exposed to.
Develop a conflict resolution plan—What causes conflict in early childhood? What is your discipline approach? How would you address a concerned parent who is upset that her child keeps getting hurt at school by other children and the teachers are not doing anything about it. Write 2-3 paragraphs to inform parents about your classroom’s positive guidance philosophy. Use your textbook to support your approach.
