(1) A friend of mine is a bit of a statistic snob and he asserted that descriptive statistics are only useful for marketing and salespeople to misrepresent the true nature of something. Serious researchers should only use inferential statistics. Attack or defend this point of view. (Minimum of 300 words/2 references.
(2) What is descriptive statistics? What are the techniques for describing variables? When are these techniques used? (Minimum 300 words/2 references).
(3)Locate two new academic articles from a professional, peer-reviewed journal related to education. These articles should involve descriptive or inferential statistics, should be two NEW articles (i.e., not articles that you used previously in this course), and should be at least ten pages in length. Be sure to completely answer all questions in each bullet point. There should be six sections per article response, addressing each numerical bullet below. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper.
The essay should be 2,250-2,500 words and should include proper citations for the two articles being reviewed. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for each article. Include a cover page and a reference page, which do not count towards the minimum word limit.Summarize both professional, peer-reviewed articles by addressing the follow for each study. Identify at least one area in the data where the results could have been interpreted differently. Explain your alternative interpretation.
Compare and contrast both studies and explain the similarities and differences with regards to the Results sections of the articles. For this piece of the assignment, focus more on the structure and components of the Results sections, not the actual results. That is, how crafty were the researchers in presenting their findings in a way that conveys clarity and importance of the results from the study.
