I’m working on a poetry project and need support to help me study.I’m working on a poetry Analytical Review and need support to help me understand better.I started my poetry project, i am missing lines’ need 70-100 lines, I have 61 lines. My poem is about time with the tone of speaking on my mother’s.
I believe she is communicating with me through time (angel numbers). Here is the poem you need to finish for me.2:26Pay attention to time, undefinedIn the end you’ll do fine.undefinedRead between those philosophical lines.undefinedThey connect us with time, undefinedAnd maybe give a sound mind.undefinedLove your mind, don’t wasteundefinedAny time.undefinedYou’re not ready to die, undefinedEspecially committing a crime.undefinedIt’s deep in your mind, undefinedWhere you store all those lines …undefinedTo keep a fake peace of mind.
The assignment is… composing and analyzing your own poetry. Your project, therefore, will have two parts:PART I: POETRYYou will compose approximately 70-100 lines of poetry. Please note that you may not “borrow” for this project from other sources! As a general rule, it’s good to write about some issue or experience that hits you hard: something that makes you feel deep happiness, anger, sadness, admiration, respect, envy, or desire. Many of our poems this semester arise from such feelings and/or from significant moments: facing family difficulties, thinking about religious crises, exploring personal trauma, remembering an influential person, communicating a personal triumph.
Try to think of some moment(s) that grab(s) you, and start brainstorming PART II: ANALYSIS Following your poem(s), you will write approximately 3 pages of analysis (double-spaced) to help a reader understand what you’ve written. In your analysis, you must address the following issues, and please answer them in a numbered list, just as you see below:
How did you choose this topic?
Why is it important to you?
Does the poem suggest any larger themes?
What special problems did you have in writing the poem?
Were particular lines, sections, or words especially difficult to write? How so?
How did you solve your writing problems?
Are you satisfied with your solutions? (An answer of “no” is fine, as long as you explain why.)
What would you like the reader to notice about your poem’s tone?
Which words or images have you chosen specifically to create that tone? (You may want to discuss your words’ connotations)
Do particular images contribute to your poem’s meaning? Did you deliberately include any similes, metaphors, figures of speech, alliteration that the reader should notice for full understanding of your poem?
If so, explain them.
How did you organize your poem?
If the poem is in stanzas, do they carry particular themes that contribute to the poem’s main purpose?
Were you influenced by any author we read in this course as you wrote your poem? If so, whom? In what way(s)?
BE SPECIFIC
NUTS AND BOLTS:All projects, both the poetry and the analysis, must be typed. The poetry may be single or double-spaced, but please double-space the analysis.
