Write an essay in which you describe these changes as they occurred during the following periods, and explain whether or not they were beneficial or detrimental to society.
A) Reconstruction to World War I (1865-1914)
B) World War I through World War II (1914-1945)
C) The Cold War and afterwards (1945-present)
You must include three examples in each period. You will be graded on the strength of your argument and how your examples relate to your argument. HINT: because such things as territorial expansion more or less end during the first period, make sure you use examples regarding any events which brought about social changes during each period.
