I need a response to the following Cognitive issue
The mental abilities that allow people to notice, acquire, comprehend, and interpret information from their environment are called cognition. Notably, cognitive problems are caused by degeneration of the cerebrum or disturbances experienced at the upper part of the patient’s cerebrum. As a result, the patient may suffer mental disorders like schizophrenia and dementia. For example, schizophrenia is a mental illness that impairs the patient’s capacity to think, feel, and act appropriately (Ayano, 2016). Although the specific etiology of schizophrenia is unknown, genetics, subject environment, and changes in brain chemistry and structure may all have a role.
If schizophrenia is not addressed, it can lead to severe difficulties that influence every aspect of life. According to Ayano (2016), suicide and suicidal thoughts are among complications that schizophrenia can induce or be related to depression, along with Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) are the two main types of anxiety disorders. Symptoms of schizophrenia involve: hallucinations, slurred thinking, difficulty in comprehending, and a lack of desire. A family’s history of schizophrenia, autoimmune response abnormalities, and drug usage in early adulthood are all some of the most common risk factors for schizophrenia (McCutcheon et al., 2020). Schizophrenia is also connected to complications during pregnancy or childbirth.
Steps for the prevention of schizophrenia include avoiding all the risk factors. In this case, teens should avoid the use of drugs since their brains are still developing. Get help when you are in an unhealthy relationship or experiencing trauma (McCutcheon et al., 2020). You could, for example, contact a physician; otherwise, you may end up suffering schizophrenia. Maintaining one’s self-esteem and reducing stress are two benefits of socializing. Teenagers, in particular, should be motivated to make friends and prevent feeling isolated (Ayano, 2016). Also, treatment for victims typically lasts a lifetime and usually consists of a combination of drugs, psychotherapy, and coordinating specialty care providers.
