The instructions of the assignment are:
For your presentation assignment, you will be able to choose from one of four chapters in our textbook. Each chapter takes a more applied focus on human behavior, with connections to social psychology. Carefully read the information below.
For your chosen chapter, you will develop and record a 5 slide presentation of yourself to share. The presentation should be 7-10 minutes (strict time limit!). You can use any software you wish to create your presentation (e.g., OneDrive, Google Slides, Canva, etc.). You can also use powerpoint or Zoom to record yourself (see video at bottom for recording help).
Your presentation should include the following:
Slide 1 (Overview of the topic) – This might include things like defining the field of study or stating the overarching aim of this topic (i.e., what aspects of humans does this topic seek to understand?).
Slide 2 (Some important details, findings, or concepts) – This slide includes a bit more detail than the previous. You won’t be able to recap everything discussed in the chapter, so your goal is to pick out a few overarching themes or concepts that you think are important. I typically recommend focusing only on 2-3 different ideas on this slide.
Slide 3 (Example of one important concept or summary of specific study cited in textbook) – Choose one of the details discussed from Slide 2 and dive in – develop your own example illustrating that concept or choose a study the textbook talks about in more detail and summarize it.
Slide 4 (Connections with a class module/social psychology) – In what ways does this topic draw on the field of social psychology? Give a specific example of a module we discussed that might inform research in this area. It does not need to be a module that the authors of the textbook reference.
Slide 5 (What remains to be studied or what is unanswered in this field?) – Think about the goals of this field. What do you think could still be studied? What remains unanswered or should be investigated next (based on your reading of the textbook chapter).

While the number of slides and info you need to include are standardized, there is no limit to the presentation. Pictures can be a good way to display info. Additionally, don’t worry about being “formal” in your presentation. I simply want to have you share what you learned, in whatever fashion is comfortable. This is not a lecture!
