I have written the whole document. I need Chapter 3: The Conceptual Framework to be re-written with particular attention to having a clear and structured conceptual framework. I have received several comments throughout that say that it is unclear. What I need to demonstrate is that:
1) Hammel’s (2004) framework has been used in community garden research (Lucke et al. 2019; Connelly et al., 2012) – this is not my research, my research is on school gardens. I have not chosen to ask the research questions or thematic analysis using Hammel because I wanted to have an inductive approach to research using Yanow’s framework of meaning through acts, language, and objects. I also wanted to have an inductive approach to research using Yanow (2006) as research on what meaning teachers attribute to school gardens has not been conducted before. The reviewers continue to state that it all appears confused – so the re-write needs to be very clear and well sequenced.
2) make sure Yanow’s framework and its use in my research is much clearer and well structured
3) I need a section that demonstrates some research on using Yanow’s framework for meaning (acts, language, and objects) in other areas (eg. education, welfare, social studies) and how and why asking teachers perspectives using Yanow’s framework is important.
3) Hammel is used in the discussion (but not the methodology or results), although I have been told that whilst the results are not organised using Hammel that I should mention him in a conclusing sentence for each paragraph.
