Review the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies for informatics knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the table above.
Select one competency from each area of knowledge, skills, and attitude (3 total) that you feel you could improve upon in your practice. Provide a rationale as to why you selected this competency for yourself.
Utilizing a minimum of 3 evidence-based, peer reviewed references describe how the chosen resources will help to improve your understanding and application of the identified competencies. Each resource must clearly provide support applicable to the competencies.
Determine a goal or outcome as to how you will self-assess your professional growth. You will need a minimum of one goal for each competency (3 total). You might participate in something that demonstrates your knowledge or volunteer for a committee to apply your knowledge. This is highly individualized based on your self-assessment including where you work, what you do and the opportunities available to you.
Provide a time frame for mastering each of your chosen competencies (3 total). This could be as simple as stating when you would like to complete a learning activity, or when you could implement the change into your practice. The time frame must be achievable (e.g., stating one week to achieve competency in a complex skill would not make sense).
Basically you are applying the nursing process to yourself based on your needs assessment.
You should have a minimum of three references no older than 5 years. This is a WAC assignment and must be 1000+ words not including the title page, abstract, or reference page.
