I am trying to get into a highly selective major, Communication Major. I need to submit 2 answer to 2 different question that needs to be 250 words. This has to be a prefect essay, that will get me into such a selective major. “which will prompt you for information about why you believe you would be a good candidate for admission to the Communication Department.” The questions are: Why are you a good fit for the Communication major, a highly selective and challenging major? Address your intellectual interests, research experiences, and/or academic preparation. these are the classes i have taken: These are the course: Comm 10: introduction to Interpersonal and Mass Communication AND comm 171 Freedom of Speech and Press. I am going to give you an essay that i want you to plug those classes into the essay and do not mention the classes in the essay but take them out instead. I want you to put in information that makes it sound interesting an unique. no take out anything that has to do with the pass courses and add the new course and talk in the present of attending college. The course description for comm 171 is To make sense out of most areas of law, one first needs to understand the values that shape the pattern of decided cases. In the First Amendment context these include: (1) advancing knowledge and “truth” in the marketplace of ideas, (2) facilitating representative democracy and self-government, and (3) promoting individual autonomy and self-realization. Using these animating values of free speech doctrine as unifying themes, in this course we’ll examine issues of hate speech; students’ speech and press rights; whether and when reporters should go to jail for protecting their sources; the academic freedom interests informing affirmative action cases; cries of “cancel culture”; abortion, funeral and other protest speech; the Motion Picture Association’s film ratings system; and, time permitting, the First Amendment value of lying. For Comm 10 is this course is designed to introduce you, in general terms, to the study of interpersonal and mass communication. The approach will be interdisciplinary. You will be exposed to some of the basic methods and theoretical perspectives that social scientists and others use to study interpersonal and mass communication and many of the basic concepts that they use to describe and explain that communication. You will also be given a basic historical overview of each of the major mass media and learn about significant current topical issues related to the means of communication that reach large numbers of people. The basic objectives of this course are long-term and intellectual in nature. Greater understanding of yourself and your world will result from the serious study of interpersonal and mass communication. Successful students will also acquire a general understanding of the methods, concepts, theories, and research that define the discipline of communication. The course will also provide the student with a foundation for further study in the discipline. Please note this is a General Education class that teaches essential university-level skills and introduces students to fundamental ideas in the social sciences. It is a Foundations in Society and Culture (SC) Course. It helps students learn how to assess information critically; frame and deliver reasoned and persuasive arguments in writing; and identify, acquire, and use knowledge necessary to understand the world and solve problems. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to identify, explain, analyze, and evaluate how you are constantly engaged in and affected by a vast web of intrapersonal, interpersonal, small group, and mass communication. make it seem like the present, do not talk about the past or the past coursework. the 2nd question: Describe how you would contribute to this major by focusing on one or more of the following: demonstrated leadership, contributions to diversity, and/or ability to overcome challenges and obstacles. Communication is a highly selective major. Tell us briefly why you believe you should be chosen for the major.
