Summarize what you learned from any one of the videos in the “Additional Video resources” from any of the chapters in this class. Indicate in your title which video you are summarizing and what chapter it correlated to in the textbook (i.e., “Summary of What We Can Learn From Narcissists, Chapter 15 video”), the main points covered, and the most important things you learned from the video. Tie what you learned in the video back to concepts, definitions, or information that you learned from the textbook, and be sure to use in-text citations when you refer to information from the textbook.
Essays must be at least 500 words and be thoughtful and original to earn full credit (see penalties for plagiarism in your student handbook).
Essays must be well-written to earn full credit. Check for typos, use topic sentences to start out each paragraph, and have an introductory paragraph and a conclusion paragraph. These essays are automatically submitted to plagiarism detection software when you submit them – consequences for plagiarizing any part of this essay will result in you earning a “0” for the entire assignment.
I don’t have a required number of references, but it would be difficult to write a good essay without finding information on the topic from some source. If any information in this essay comes from an outside source, even an idea or fact that you paraphrased, make sure to cite that source in your essay properly. You should at least cite your textbook and the author of the video you are summarizing.

Your essay must not contain anything factually inaccurate (depending on the severity of the inaccuracies, you may not earn any credit for your essay), so make sure your facts are coming from the textbook or some other reputable source (be wary of information you find on the web, only use scholarly sources like peer-reviewed journal articles or .edu/.gov websites).
If you use outside sources in your essay, do not use direct quotes. Instead, paraphrase from the original source and then cite that source using APA format.
You must use APA format to cite your sources in-text and provide references at the end of your essay. You must post your essay before you can see replies on this board (if you make a post before your essay post you will not earn ANY credit). This first post will allow you to see other posts on the discussion board. Posting your essay on the board will allow you to see posts from other students on the discussion board.
If you write your essay early, you can submit it to NetTutor to get feedback on your writing before submitting it to the discussion board. Your replies must be at least 100 words and be thoughtful to earn credit. You will not earn any credit if your opinion is not respectful in your original essay and when discussing the answers of other students.
*Note: you will not earn credit for any response that is not thoughtful and does not substantively add to the discussion. Posts that simply say “great essay, I agree” or similar posts, will not earn credit.
