Follow the link to the British Museum web site to discover the amazing origins of this popular art form. I think you will be amazed at how old it really is.
Please be sure to mention and study Hokusai and Under the wave off of Kanagawa,which you are asked to copy, in your own style, in the following hands on project.
Afterwards, write FIVE PARAGRAPHS in an essay format that tells me about the site, what you learned, and what you think and feel about the art and art background that you discovered or were already familiar with. If you are not sure about the essay format, take the time to look it up on line. This format will serve you well in the future if you ever are in charge of a written report. This is your opportunity to practice your writing skills in a low stakes’ situation…just do your best, and I will give you feedback you might can use. I would encourage you to find at least two other sources, for a total of three sources, for a five-paragraph essay…this gives you a lot to write about and more interesting details.
Be sure to cite the sources, and go beyond the one source I have given you. To follow traditional essay form-you will need at least three sources., Have an introduction, body and conclusion, and a bibliography of articles you looked up.
Also, be sure that all your written word is your own, and not cut and paste from a site you have sourced (I will know; I can google too!). Practice makes perfect!
