Your Unique Title About the Paper
This is the introduction. It does not require a heading. State what the paper will be about: Include a thorough and accurate description of the AACN. Obtain the reader’s interest. Use MEAL: main idea, evidence, analysis, lead into the next paragraph. Every paragraph should be three to five sentences. Regarding the title page, start about a third the way down the page. Title is bolded. There is an extra double space between the title and the rest. Use your full name and my full name with credentials. Month must be spelled out. You must include page numbers in the upper right-hand corner. The margins are one inch all around. No running title head is required. Only use left or center alignment, not justified alignment.
The Purpose of The Essentials
This is the first topic. The heading is bolded and centered. Make sure before centering that there is not an indent. You can use Purpose of the Essentials as the Level 1 heading if you wish. Each paragraph should have a first line indent. Discuss the purpose for the Essentials. Use literature to support your ideas. Use Grammarly to correct any errors in writing. Double check all your formatting and APA style use in the title page, headers, page numbers, and headings in the body of the paper. Make sure to include in-text citations and a reference page. The body of the paper should be 1-2 double-spaced pages. A conclusion paragraph is not necessary for the first assignment; it will be done on the third paper.
The Foundational Elements of the Essentials
Identify and describe the foundational elements on which the Essentials have been developed. There are three of them. Discuss each. They are nursing as a discipline, the foundation of a liberal education, and principles of competency-based education. Discuss each one briefly.
The Essentials for the 21st Century
Discuss the importance of the Essentials in reflecting nursing education in the 21st century. There are six trends to discuss in this section. They are (1) diversity, equity, and inclusion; (2) the four spheres of care (including an enhanced focus on primary care); (3) systems-based practice; (4) informatics and technology; (5) academic-practice partnerships; and (6) career-long learning. Support your thoughts and ideas using professional and scholarly literature. Do not use colloquialisms or idioms. The use of subheadings are optional.
Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Sub-headings are not required. However, if you use them, then they should be aligned left, bold, and Title Case. You can also use Purdue Owl and the Academic Writer to learn how to use APA headings correctly. Make sure you limit your direct quotes; instead provide an overview or paraphrase. Three to five sentences.
The Four Spheres of Care
What trend necessitated adding the four spheres of care to the Essentials? What do the Four Spheres of Care represent? For each sphere, discuss the type of patient, the type of care, and the location of that care. Three to five sentences.
Additional Trends in the 21st Century
Discuss the other trends here. They are systems-based practice, informatics and technology, engagement, academic partnerships, and career-long learning. What is the trend? Why is it important? Add a summary sentence for this part of the paper.
The title of the document must follow the syllabus guidelines: LastName_N3000_PhilNursing_1.dox. When you are done, insert a page break. The final page for part 1 will be the reference section. Three to Five sentences.
