Review the Jamison Family Scenario that describes the initial intake session. Then, watch this third simulated session 2 video that demonstrates another family therapy approach. Required readings should inform your responses. After reviewing your required readings for this weekly module, reflect on your responses to the following:
1. For Session 2 using the Narrative Family Therapy approach:
- What thick descriptions of the family members’ subjective experiences were revealed in this family therapy session?
- How might the son’s problematic self-narrative story be contributing to his adolescent development? How might the mother’s self-narrative story be contributing to her role & reactions?
- Describe how the therapist utilizes externalizing and collaborating techniques with the mother & son to ally with them against their “problem” during the family session.
