a)Based on what you have learned from the readings in this lesson, how would you define or describe “community” in the context of resource and infrastructure projects?
b)Thinking of what you have learned in previous courses, your workplace experience as well as your reading about technological developments, describe the nature and significance of challenges posed by global communications technologies (including social media) to the practice of community development generally and for development associated with large projects specifically?
c)Describe your understanding of the term “neoliberalism” and of its criticisms. In your view, what aspects do critics get right, and what do they get wrong? Is community development just window-dressing for exploitation?
d)Deanna Kemp suggests that while integrity in local practice can mitigate some of the concerns raised by Kenny, the effectiveness of local practice faces impediments that community developers must consider. What are these impediments?
