When people think about artificial intelligence (AI), the first thing that comes to mind is usually related to a movie or TV series. However, AI is already impacting our lives, and most importantly, we interact with multiple forms of AI daily. For example, if you have a smartphone, it will probably have embedded some form of AI. Also, when you browse a page like eBay or Amazon, you give their AI system data. Now, I’d like you to think closer to home and about the impact of AI in the workforce. How will AI impact the workforce, and what are some alternatives being proposed to remedy its effects? What is the most likely scenario that will result from greater use of technology? In what ways might the economy adjust to maximize the use of technology? Are there real-world examples you can cite where AI or automation has displaced labor formerly conducted by humans? Is the development of technology something to be feared or embraced?
