This will be an article critique for my doctoral aging and diversity class. You must support your response with at least two new peer-reviewed articles, but can also cite any of the provided resources. For this particular assignment, using using Mehrota, Chandra and Wagner, Lisa. (2009). Aging and diversity 2nd ed. New York: Routledge.
Ch. 2 & Dilworth-Anderson, P. respond to the following topic:
Read and critique the article considering the points raised in Chapter 2 of Aging and Diversity. Provide a brief (200 word) summary of your article and attach the PDF of the article to your post. How well does the article address the tenants of the gerontological imagination? How well does this study/article address issues related to diversity (provide concrete examples)? Does the research adequately address the research process and outcome for a diverse population of elders? Are there “bright lights” in this work? Would using a Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) model enhance this research? If so, how? Integrate Chapter 2 into your critique.
The expectation for satisfactory work is 500 – 750 words per topic with at least 3 current peer reviewed references utilized. Textbooks, blogs, magazine or internet articles, book chapters, or special reports, do not count toward the peer-reviewed minimum. Connections to the peer reviewed references should be used throughout your writing with in-text citations and matching reference citations.
I have attached the article for you to critique (Understanding diversity in later life through images of old age) as well as recommended resources to elaborate on the assignment expectations. Make sure to provide substantial evidence from scholarly resources and refrain from making generalized statements. Textbooks, blogs, magazine or internet articles, book chapters, or special reports, do not count toward scholarly resources.
