I will upload the final term project guideline and term project proposal( including professor’s feedback) and the required areas (i.e., ‘six’ drivers)) in the file.
More detailed guidelines are posted below, in a separate document. Your final class project report will be graded based on such criteria as: (1) relevance of the self-chosen topic (Amazon’s supply chain management ) given the nature and subject of the course; (2) completeness (in addressing all the required areas (i.e., ‘six’ drivers)); and (3) clear organization and natural “flow” of writing (with few or no grammar or spelling errors). Scholarly knowledge must be cited correctly using the APA (American Psychological Association) style guide. See below for individual term project report guidelines.
This project must be done individually .
Essentially, you are required to select an actual, existing company or enterprise that involves logistical or supply chain processes as key part of its business activities, outputs and revenues. Particularly, during week 3, we learned about the ‘six’ different supply chain performance drivers—facilities, inventory, transportation, information, sourcing, and pricing. Each of you is required to analyze the company/enterprise of your choice in terms of each of these six drivers.
How the organization deploys and structures its resources and develops sub-processes around those six drivers will define the firm’s overall logistical-supply chain management model and strategies. At the same time, based on your secondhand observations and analysis done throughout this term, you should be able to make some recommendations for how the firm can improve on those drivers. Some example topics/choices may be such online retailing companies as Amazon, restaurant-chain businesses like McDonalds, apparel retail companies like Zara, 3rd-party logistics service providers like FedEx etc
A final term project report must begin with an executive summary no longer than 250 words, as the cover page. A suggested outline for the final report is as follows:1.Executive summary (cover page)2
.Describe the company/enterprise of your choice (e.g., nature/focus of business)
Identify and define its logistical-SCM processes and structure in terms of the six supply chain performance drivers
Make suggestions/recommendations given the present/pressing issues or shortcomings, if any, in the current processes, as you identified/observed through your analysis of the firm.
Conclusion * Please note the above listings are just general guidelines. Feel free to add to or alter the components of final report as you see fit given your project topic.
