Assignment Overview:
As Eagle Aviation Industries grows, the environment it operates within has become increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. The massive growth and success Eagle Aviation Industries has had in a short amount of time is presenting structural challenges.
With all companies facing a tumultuous environment that rapidly shifts and changes, Eagle Aviation Industries needs to adapt quickly to the new competition, economic turbulence, and rapid innovation. While it is growing rapidly, it faces complex problems that may inhibit continued growth.
The leaders at Eagle Aviation Industries have called this board meeting to address the following questions:
1. How do you recommend analyzing the external environment for potential disruptions and/or changes?
2. How do you recommend the organization adapts to address the dynamism in the changing environment?
3. How should Eagle Aviation Industries approach inter-organizational partnerships?
Review the readings and other resources for this week. In light of your own experiences with measuring effectiveness in organizations, teams, groups, departments, etc… in particular, develop your initial “coming-in” position – your current view as to recommended approaches for adaptation and potential partnerships.
• Spell out in simple steps your argument that supports your belief.
• Then ask yourself, “How would I test, evaluate, or prove my position is correct or incorrect?”
• Think about the role(s) that definitions and measurement have in helping you come to your position.
