OPTION 1:
As argued by Bhatty and Dongre, “a just society could be achieved through ensuring equality of opportunity by providing “primary goods” (Rawls, 1971) or a set of “capabilities” (Sen, 1980) that would enable every citizen to achieve his/her life plan”. With reference to the film and the presentation based on Bhatty and Dongre’s study; how do you look at the education scope in India with regards to achieving the objective of equality of opportunity and thereby social justice? OPTION 2:
‘Modern education is intrinsically liked with emergence of nation-states, and plays central role in constructing certain kind of citizenship. We can trace this historically to understand the need to legitimise a nation’s existence to create “patriotic citizens”.’
