How do these texts address the psychological challenges of writing as opposed to “technical” challenges of structure, logic, and formatting? How much, or how little do the examples and recommendations in each text match up with your own experiences as a writer in high school, at home, or in college?
You can argue for what you think the cause of writing obstacles are for yourself or people you know. Or you can argue for a particular strategy or method that helps you address these obstacles. Feel free to relate it to your own experience, or the experiences of your friends and families. That means you can tell personal anecdotes or talk about experiences from outside of the readings. But do make your argument strongly connected to the reading and do quote/paraphrase from them. One way to ensure that your personal experience is related to the readings, is to use a compare/contrast/synthesis structure. For example, you might tell us how your experience reflects the ideas from the readings, but how it is nevertheless slightly different and specific to you.
