NO OUTSIDE SOURCES. NO PLAGIARISM
Your essays should demonstrate the ability to answer the essay questions and support them with specific examples or evidence from the assigned readings and films only.
All essays must cite evidence from assigned sources and no outside sources are allowed.
You must write out everything in your own words unless you are quoting an assigned reading or film. You are on your honor: you should not give or receive help on the exam. Plagiarism will result in a zero.
You must also cite your sources using MLA style in-text citations. For example, (Four Hundred Souls, 77), (Module 5 Learning Unit), (Film: Family Across the Sea).
Please type out your exams in a Word document and then upload your essay as a Word or PDF document.
The essays should each be about 300 to 350 words in length. In general, however, you should simply strive to answer the questions to the best of your ability. Grading emphasis will be placed on the quality of your essays rather than the quantity of your words.
Exam Questions:1. How did racial slavery develop in the North American colonies? What made slavery different in distinct locations or regions? Was racial slavery inevitable or avoidable in the American colonies?
2. How did West African cultures influence the development of a distinct African-American culture? What do you think are the two most important examples and why?
AGAIN, NO OUTSIDE SOURCES.
