History book used is “Give me Liberty” Eric Foner Vol. 6. You should choose a topic in an area of your interest from the time periods covered by the course (1607
to 1877). Narrow the topic so that it can be handled easily; and then from that, construct a question (e.g.
you are interested in the Korean War. After reading broadly you become interested in the General
MacArthur-Truman conflicts. You finally formulate a question “What was Truman’s argument for firing
MacArthur?”) From the question you will formulate a title, e.g. “Truman’s Argument for Firing
MacArthur”.
Requirements:
1. Your paper should not be more than 1250 words (appx. 5-6 double spaced, typewritten pages, font
of Times New Roman – size 12 and 1” margins.) and should include the following;
a. Title Page
i. With title centered in the middle of the page both vertically and horizontally
ii. In the lower right hand corner;
1. Your Name
2. Instructor’s Name
3. Course
4. Date
b. Table of Contents
i. Should be a basic outlining your paper
c. Pagination
i. Each page should be numbered at the bottom center of the page
ii. In the top right corner of the page should be your last name and Student ID #
d. Sources
i. You should have a minimum of five (5) non-internet sources.
1. Two primary sources
2. Two databases
3. One Peer reviewed paper/article
ii. AVOID WIKIPEDIA AND ASK.COM AT ALL COSTS.
e. Works Cited
i. All in text citations should be properly cited and in proper APA format
