When preparing your presentation, you may consider the following steps:
1. Read the required readings for the week closely (you may find it helpful to annotate the text or take notes);
2. Watch the weekly primer, focusing on the key concepts and takeaways from the topic;
3. Make sure your presentation’s main focus is on your required reading, covering it’s key concepts and themes in-depth;
4. Draw on the other required readings for the week, recommended readings and additional resources to supplement your understanding of the course material;
5. Select a case from recent news or literature that illustrates the concepts and ideas from the required reading;
6. End the presentation by posing two questions relating to the week’s topic. You will use these to lead the class discussion on the issue.
Make sure your presentation contains the following:
• An explicit connection to the concepts, themes, and ideas from the required readings for the respective week;
• An analysis of a recent or historical case that illustrates the ideas from your assigned reading;
• 2-3 provocative discussion questions you would like to pose to your classmates in order to illustrate/animate/challenge the concepts and ideas.
• Please note we are not able to accept a video in lieu of a live presentation except in special circumstances.
