Scenario: You have been commissioned by the hosts of one of the following events taking place in London toprovide a review of the event. In preparation for your meeting with the hosts you have to submit a report thatprovides an analysis of the event.The work starts by selecting one of the events stated below to investigate as a real-life case study. Do online searchabout the concept and aim of each of these three events and decide which one you are up to research andinvestigate. The report should deal with the following components against which it will be assessed1. The characteristics and objectives of the host organization(s): This is to look at the characteristics of thehost organization(s) of the event and the objectives they aim to achieve through the event. It also to offeran explanation of how the event fits within the host organisations’ long term objectives, and with theexpectations of relevant stakeholders. Policy Analysis: this needs to look at two sets of policy analysis; 1) the impacts of three major policies of theLocal Authority where the event takes place, and 2) PESTEL Analysis framework. This analysis can offerunderstanding of how the external policy environment impacts the event organization, and theexpectations of the key stakeholders. This can illustrate how relevant political, social, economic, technologyand environmental (PESTEL analysis) trends affect the success of the chosen event.1. Event’s Stakeholder Mapping and Analysis: this should look at the event’s different stakeholders includingthe event participants and local host community. This analysis can use Freeman (2010) stakeholdermapping and/ or Power/ Interest Matrix of Mendelow (1981)2. Event’s product life cycle (Holmes, 2017) along with your proposed growth or survival strategies, dependingon the event’s life cycle and relevant screening process. Porter’s 5 Forces framework can offer usefulinsights to inform your proposed growth or survival strategies.
