This assignment has 3 parts. The first part is an answer this unit’s discussion questions in a main post minimum 300 words, 2nd is a response to 2 peers’ postings minimum 75 words. Review your peers’ responses, and contribute your thoughts on the method of collection.
Do you agree with the qualitative data collection method chosen? Why or why not?
Main Post:
There are three common methods of qualitative data collection, as follows:
Interviews
Focus groups
Observations
Understanding how these are used in research methods is vital to the healthcare system.
Think of a healthcare-related question you are interested in researching that would require qualitative data.
Briefly explain the topic, and determine which of the qualitative data collection methods would be most beneficial in answering your question.

A healthcare question that I have always had in my mine was why black people are prone to certain disease and illnesses. So now that I have an opportunity to address this situation, I will gladly proceed.
My research has led me to find studies in researchers have mainly focused upon black communities which is considered to be poor black communities. In my opinion quantitative research cannot and will not find all of the root causes that proves their statistical outcomes. In order to get the quantitative research a researcher would totally have to focus on these three main methods which includes focus, interviews, and observations. But these methods must be conducted in more than one sector.
Cultural mistrust is a history that still exist in our race. And it’s because of neglect, exploitation, and abuse. This has significantly prevented us from participating in clinical research. (George etal., 2014; Nevid & Maria, 1999). This mistrust is often understood by researchers.
My research found that the people who conducted this research were that of Scholarly Caucasians and they only conducted in the poor black communities, which is not at all creditable to me because of their limited focus.
In my opinion researcher should be conducted by more than one race, the race I am discussing is Caucasian American who have always viewed themselves as superior to all races. One would think that who would no better about their lifestyle that the person itself, so combination of research should be conducted by the race itself among other researchers of different races who qualifies.
When researching, interviews, focus groups, and observation is key methods to these delicate issues. They should use these methods in middle class black, rich blacks and not just focus on poor blacks. The way they have been conducting and researching is the reason why we are prone to certain disease proves to me to be insufficient and bias because the research only focused on one group. And this group would not or could not entirely render the outcome as poor people are the ones that are prone to these diseases, and health problems.

2ND PEER POST:

Good morning,
This weeks discussion is on qualitative research.
Think of a healthcare-related question you are interested in researching that would require qualitative data.
The question that I am interested in researching is the treatment of care when a patient enters the emergency room. From the time they enter to the time that they leave.
Briefly explain the topic, and determine which of the qualitative data collection methods would be most beneficial in answering your question.
When a person goes to the emergency room they are going there because of an emergency which normally needs to be dealt with at that time and they can't wait for an appointment with their doctor. A lot of times there is a long wait unless you are brought in by an ambulance. Different people have different experiences, so some questions that can be asked, such as what was your experience with intake, how the nurses communicated with you, were things explained to you while seen, when the doctor saw you was he professional in nature, and did he seem to care and listen to what you had to say and answer any questions that you had.
Conducting a structured interview, you ask questions in a predetermined order. An advantage of the structured interview is that all participants are asked the same questions in the same order. This eliminates fluctuations in the data that result from differences in when, how, and what questions are asked. Responses from a structured interview are therefore easier to summarize and analyze. (Bordens 2021)  In this type of setting I would think by interviewing patients as they leave or arrange a place to explain your research and then ask the questions.
My questions that I would be asking would be open ended questions, which allows a person to express their feelings.
I would be able to collect qualitative data and once getting a big enough pool of people then arrange them in piles of the same responses. You just can't get a few you need to get a big response. I know from experience that people have different opinions about how they were treated. You don't want to think that if you are a certain race, or the way you look, or status that you would be treated differently but it does happen.
