Dear Director of HR,
As we plan to expand our global counterpoints, here are a few important key factors to note when making business decisions that can positively impact one of our 2024 goals: having a diverse culture.
An essential aspect of doing so is to ensure we provide opportunities equally across the company globally. Focusing on the development of all of employees, no matter their current level, would be a great place to start to find talent we may not even be aware is out there, develop current talent w are aware of, and eliminate the glass ceiling perception.
The benefits of creating and maintaining a diverse workforce are as follows:
Higher profits. Ethnic and racial diversity in management were 35% more likely to have financial returns above their industry mean. Gender diversity was 15% more likely to have returns above the industry mean (McKinsey report studied 366 public companies.) (Rock, 2016)
Higher creativity and smarter decision-making.
Reduced turnover rates
Improved reputation, higher market share

With the benefits consistently released as proof of success, we must ensure this is implemented across the company. It is vital to long-term success. Implementing IDPs for each individual can provide opportunities that employees may not even know that was there. This is where we must start—coaching the managers who will cascade the message to their team, improving the moral support and goals. Everyone wants to be successful, but with the many differences between people, they may not always feel they can share their wants and needs within their careers with their current employer. This will change as we set an initiative to have our employees feel heard supported, and treated equally.
The overall goal is to develop our current talent and hire more diversity within the company, as we are a global company. After analyzing employee data, I would like to add a goal to our diversity objective to increase diversity roles by 15% by 2025 and reduce turnover by 10% in 2025. These two goals will go hand in hand, and this is something we can most certainly achieve. Thank you for your time and I look forward to presenting this idea to you in further detail later this week.
