Hello. The main research question for this thesis is “what are the primary reasons that drive the development of sustainable tourism”, focused on Norway, Sweden, and Finland. The subquestion is “what are the main factors hindering sustainable development?”, again focused on the same three countries. The objective for this thesis is to do qualitative research using semi-directed interviews and a most similar design approach.
I would like for someone to write a literature review of 15 pages and to make an interview grid of 2 pages. In the attachment, you will find a document named “thesis proposal” which gives you an introduction into the subject and the direction I want to go with it. It will also give you an idea of the writing style I would like for this to be similar to.
If you have suggestions for adjustments to the proposal I am very much open to hear about it.
Interview grid: A lot of issues regarding sustainable tourism development are not covered by the literature so with the interview grid I will be conducting semi-directed interviews with +- 10 people to get some more information in general from the people in charge of promoting tourism and taking measures regarding sustainable tourism in these countries.
Goal: the interview grid should help the me, the interviewer, get the answers I need to be able to answer to the research questions.
Construction of interview grid:
Construct the grid based on what you read in the literature.
There needs to be a clear link between what you read in the literature and the key elements of the interview grid.
Depending on your expertise and what you find regarding the literature review, I leave it up to you to choose how many questions are appropriate to write for the interview grid. By my estimate it is 2, let me know if you think this should be more/less.
At the moment there is one main research question and one subquestion, if you find throughout your research that there are more subquestions that could/should be added, please let me know.
