Hello,
Only use the 6 references I provided. This 2250-2700 word final paper provides an opportunity for deeper
investigation and integration of IECMH concepts offered in this course around
interdisciplinary work, ethics, and the application of developmental and
intervention principles to practice and policy in community settings. Readings,
media and class discussions will provide a framework for this final
assignment.
Content and Format Requirements
Total Word Count: 2250-2700 (Not including Title or Reference
Pages)
Section 1: 1000-1200 words
1.
Need: Support for parents of young children
and their families after a parent has been released from incarceration.
Describe the need and provide supportive data or
information based in developmental science that illuminates this need. Develop
and propose an integrated service delivery system that addresses the need you
have selected. Consider barriers along with potential policies, regulations or
supportive services to address those barriers. Draw from interventions,
integrated systems models and policies highlighted in this course (5521). (Refer to articles on incarceration).
1.
Introductory Paragraph
2.
Part A: IECMH need defined, with supporting data and
information based on developmental science. Consider answering questions
such as: Why does this need exist? How far reaching is the need? How does it
impact a child, a parent/caregiver, a provider, the community? What might
happen if the need is not addressed or what has been the result so far?
3.
Part B: proposed integrated service delivery system to
address the need. The integrated service system should integrate perspectives
and services from at least two different IECMH disciplines. For example you
might integrate perspectives and services from parent education, public health
and child welfare to develop a comprehensive service for families to meet the
need you have chosen from the three listed above. Consider addressing questions
such as: what services would you be including? How will programming from
different fields (such as medical and educational) be integrated? How
will your integrated service system make things better for families with young
children?
4.
Part C: Consider possible barriers to the development of
your proposed integrated system. What policies, regulations or supportive
resources might be needed?
5.
References: In this section, a minimum of four total.
References can include citations from earlier courses along with at least two
citations from modules in this course (5521). Include citations in the
body of the paper and remember to include page numbers when you include a quote
or when paraphrasing.
Section 2: 1000-1200 words
Imagine you are working
within this integrated service delivery system and an ethical dilemma emerges.
Briefly describe the dilemma that you imagine. Describe different
perspectives you could imagine would be held by professionals from different
disciplines involved in your service delivery system. Reference the code of
ethics that aligns with your current or future IECMH field along with the
ethical standards in question related to this dilemma. Utilize one of the
decision-making processes highlighted in this course (e.g. the MCFR process and
the Pope process described in chapter 8). Start with a mindful reflection
on your own perspective and possible biases, then walk through the steps and
describe your final response to the ethical dilemma. (Refer to articles on code of ethics).
1.
Part A: description of ethical dilemma. Highlight
perspectives.
2.
Part B: review the code of ethics you will likely use in
the future. Describe the ethical standards in question. Could there be
differences in these questions or perspectives given you are working in an
interdisciplinary setting?
3.
Part C: utilize an ethical decision making process.
Walk through the steps and describe your final response.
4.
Closing/Summary paragraph (Summarize Sections 1 and 2)
5.
In this section, a minimum of 2 scholarly/professional
resources with appropriate citations.
Paper is organized;
writing is professional and scholarly
Section 3:
Interdisciplinary IECMH Work Brief personal Reflection
(I will do this)
Approximately
250-300 Words. While reflective writing can be less formal than
traditional academic writing, use of full sentences/paragraphs; and proper
spelling, grammar, and citation of sources is still expected.
Respond to the following
reflective prompt:
As a professional working
in the infant and early childhood mental health field, you will regularly
collaborate with other infant and early childhood providers from other
disciplines. Through our discussion boards and live discussions you have the
opportunity to contribute your perspective and learn from the perspectives of
others who represent other IEC disciplines. Reflect on this experience and/or
other memorable IEC interdisciplinary experiences. You may consider the
following questions or reflect on other aspects of your experience: Were there
times when another perspective shifted your thinking or expanded your
understanding? Did you ever find yourself becoming defensive or having a strong
reaction to another perspective? Other challenges or positive experiences?
