This Weeks assignment will be a Research Project . You will research the Psychological Disorder you find most fascinating! You will then develop a PowerPoint Presentation about the Disorder. Be creative.
Guidelines for your PowerPoint:
What is a Psychiatric Disorder? (Explain what it is)
Pick one Psychiatric disorder to discuss/give an overview
Share research about the disorder
include history
public perceptions (be clear about the public’s perception and why the public feels that way)
if viewpoints have changed over the years (be clear on what viewpoints have changed and why or why not)
Present a case study- whether it is someone famous/ well known or personal please protect their identity and use the initials of their name.
Talk about the background of the person
age of diagnosis
How they have struggled with this disorder (be precise on how they have struggled)
How they have overcome/ worked on coping with this disorder (be precise on what they did to overcome/coped).
The project must be:
APA formatting
APA formatting for a PowerPoint varies. You MUST use in-text citations for all information you share (including images and videos). The LAST slide of the PowerPoint needs to be a Reference page with APA formatted citations.
You will need a title page: Disorder, class title, name and date.
Minimum slide requirement: 15 slides, every slide has to have a purpose and not just a picture (not to include the title page or reference page).
Reference Page slides required, make sure you cite.
DO NOT use WIKIPEDIA as a reference. If you do you will receive 0 points for the paper. You can use google scholar or the BCC library for assistance.
