Go to https://www.scotforge.com/plant-tour. Go on a virtual tour of the plant by watching the preview and the videos for the different places on the plant map.
Write a paper that starts with an introductory paragraph providing an overview of Scot Forge, includes 3 or 4 paragraphs summarizing the 12 plant areas, and ends with a conclusion paragraph. More paragraphs can be used if needed.
Within your paper look for opportunities to relate the Scot Forge facilities and processes to topics we have covered in class. At a minimum you should discuss the responsibility centers (cost, profit, investment) you have identified at Scot Forge, draw a conclusion on whether Scot Forge is likely to use job or process costing for inventory, and comment on the cost of quality.
Be sure to include enough details in your paper to convince the reader you have actually participated in the virtual tour. Examples of details you might include are
How many facilities?
What do they make?
How many pounds of raw materials do they typically have on hand?
How many employee owners do they have?
Use Times New Roman 12 point font, 1-inch margins, and double spacing. Use correct grammar, complete sentences, and well-written paragraphs. Your paper should be long enough to include all of the requirements. The expected length is 2 to 3 pages.
