Reverse Logistics Flows Analysis.
Instructions/Objectives
You have been tasked with developing a proposal for a return/ remanufacturing system for a line
of personal assistant robots . Assume management wants to
remanufacture the returned products. The report should cover the following areas.
1. Describe the robot and its main components. There are several types/formats for
personal robots (security, entertainment, keep company for a pet,…). Google search
personal robots 2024! There is Ballie, LG Smart Home Agent, ORo…
2. Describe the reasons for reverse flows you are considering/ discuss their importance
based on expected volumes? Are most flows returns due to breakdowns, due to EOL, to
get money back?
3. What could be done to encourage reverse flows?
4. Describe the collection processes (including equipment, transportation to,…)
5. Describe the inspection processes (including equipment, transportation to,…)
6. Describe the possible conditions of the product when inspected.
7. Describe the possible disposition of the products and/or the components.
a. How the conditions determine disposition?
b. What would be gained by each disposition?
c. Issues with transportation to each disposition.
d. What happens at each disposition and what is the value gained.
You will need to make a lot of assumptions. You should include 2-3 flowcharts. Consider
sustainability/green issues, for example green freight and warehousing.
